Today we’d like to introduce you to Harsh Mehta.
Harsh, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started our business as a college sophomore in 2003. The idea of being surrounded by smart and motivated individuals that were relentlessly working on their businesses while I was doing the same excited me – the idea that I could help them grow their businesses while growing my own excited me even more. We’ve grown Work Better the old-fashioned way – boot-strapped, one customer and one location at a time!
Has it been a smooth road?
I’m a fourth generation entrepreneur and as such have been blessed with having an amazing support system in my family. I’ve also been lucky to have amazing team members that have supported our vision every step of the way. There’ve been a few bumps, as there always are, but considering all things we’ve had a relatively smooth journey.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Work Better story. Tell us more about the business.
Work Better operates professional shared work environments designed to optimize people’s productivity. We currently operate 5 locations in New York and Chicago and offer entrepreneurs and business teams the ability to work out of private offices, meetings rooms and coworking areas on a flexible basis. We also boast some of the best in class technology infrastructure in our locations that is particularly attractive to compliance focused members.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
How people and businesses work is changing at an unprecedented rate. A lot is yet to be determined, but no one will ever say they want less flexibility when it comes to how and where they work. So, we are in a very early stage of what will become an epic journey of growth and transformation for our industry (and commercial real estate as a whole!) over the next 10 year period.
