Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Vladimir Reznikov.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Vladimir. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
In 1989, I came to the US from the former Soviet Union.
I went to the University of Illinois at Chicago and in 1991 graduated and was accepted into the College of Dentistry.
In 1995, I graduated with a Degree of the Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) and continued my education in the Post-Graduate Program in Periodontics.
In 1998, I finished the program and started my private practice with 3 operatories and 2 staffmembers helping me.
The practice was part-time then and I taught at the College of Dentistry and worked as a guestspecialist in other offices.
In 2008, we moved into the new location with 5 operatories. Today Glen Periodontics &Implant Dentistry is a premier periodontal practice with 2 Doctors, 4 Front Desk personnel, 3 Dental assistants and a Dental Hygienist.
Our office is open 6 days a week.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It was not a smooth ride by any means.
First of all, becoming a successful dental specialist required a lot of clinical education. My education was a relatively easy task for me. Becoming a successful private practice owner was a totally different thing. I had to learn financial, legal, staff / patient management, and other aspects of the business.
Besides that, I learned that I had 2 types of customers — my patients and their referring doctors. Learning how to balance and keep everyone happy was probably the most challenging task.
Another issue was to learn how to deal with the people I work with. Now I am happy to say that my staff turn-over is very low and I have 3 people that have worked with me for 10 years andeven longer.
Initially it was very difficult to get recognition. Our practice is in a very competitive field. Many times, I would get so frustrated that I thought about closing it.
My wife was very supportive. She helped so much with the practice, while taking full care about our home.
Result … I come to the office and see the place that lives and thrives!
Patients come and go; phones are ringing. We are busy. I guess we are doing something right and our happy patients reviews confirm that.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Glen Periodontics & Implant Dentistry – what should we know?
Glen Periodontics & Implant Dentistry is the practice limited to the treatment of the periodontal disease and dental implants surgery.
I am a licensed Periodontist and my partner Dr. Konstantin Gromov has a dual specialty in Periodontics and Prosthodontics.
We provide a full scope of the treatment of the periodontal disease including the most advanced minimally invasive options utilizing periodontal laser.
We also provide a full scope of hard and soft tissue regenerative techniques including periodontal plastic surgery.
The results that we are able to achieve are maintained by our very well-trained hygienists.
When it comes to implants, we provide our patients with all aspects of implant dentistry starting with proper diagnosis utilizing the latest techniques and using 3-D imaging.
Jaw bone regeneration for implants is a very important aspect of our practice.
Cosmetics is another very important aspect and we are able to provide our patients with long-lasting esthetic restorations where it is difficult to see the difference between the natural tooth and the replaced one.
The presence of Dr. Gromov and his expertise in Prosthodontics allows us to help our restoring colleges to plan and treat cases of any degree of difficulty.
Our office hours cover the full spectrum of appointments from the early morning to late evenings,including Saturdays.
Our staff is very knowledgeable and compassionate.
With all said above – our fees are very compatible and we are preferred providers for the major insurance companies. This is another very important aspect that makes the treatment affordable to our patients.
