Today we’d like to introduce you to Rosalinda Jackson.
Rosalinda, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Fresh out of high school I was super indecisive about what career I wanted to pursue, my mom was a licensed cosmetologist so naturally she wanted me to go into the same industry as her but I wasn’t too convinced with the idea. Regardless of my indifference towards becoming a certified makeup artist, my mom signed me up and paid for my courses! The more I learned about makeup and what it can do to change people lives, the more I was eager to start creating. I graduated from the academy and immediately began practicing on friends and family. I didn’t begin making a name for myself until my husband Reggie pushed me to curate YouTube tutorials and Facebook live interactions. My personality and lifestyle quickly gained the trust of many girls & guys from Chicago, Texas and California… I was blessed with many opportunities such as NYFW, Chicago fashion shows, music videos, commercial shoots and even featured on a magazines, TV and podcasts! I’ve tried to help as many people in Chicago as I could by raising money, donating my time to charities, giving helpful and honest opinions to my supporters and clients, marketing other small businesses, even teaming up with other makeup artists! I’m currently working with photographers across Chicago and Indiana all while preparing for my 2018 brides and quinceañeras!
Has it been a smooth road?
I don’t think anything worth keeping comes at an easy cost. Ever since I discovered my passion for makeup artistry I have had every chance to call it quits due to jealousy, cattiness and lack of resources. You have to set a goal for what you expect out of yourself, plan accordingly and execute like there’s no tomorrow. Remember to always get up and show your very best version of yourself to the world.

I specialize in beauty makeup for brides, quinceañeras and photoshoots but do not limit myself to any specific area. I love creating anything from a red carpet look to a very bloody halloween look, it all depends on what my client’s expectations are. I can’t really tell you what sets me apart from other makeup artists but I can definitely show you & allow you to make your own observations.
Do you feel like there was something about the experiences you had growing up that played an outsized role in setting you up for success later in life?
I have 5 brothers no sisters, a mom who’s unstoppable & a hard working dad. My parents have always focused on making sure my brothers & I know the value of hard work, honesty & education. My husband is my biggest fan, biggest supporter & my best friend. They have always pushed me to believe in myself and that anything is possible through dedication. Every moment up until now continues to mold me into the woman I’m destined to be.
