Today we’d like to introduce you to Tom Vonrentzell.
Tom, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I am actually a third-generation moving specialists. My grandfather Eugene started a professional moving company in Nebraska where I was born and raised. I grew up in the industry and after I graduated, I started a professional moving company of my own. After a few successful years in Nebraska I decided to bring the company to Chicago.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Smooth road, no. Rewarding road, yes. It has been quite the journey. It’s definitely a challenge trying to make a name for myself in a city like Chicago. The hardest struggle is finding good help who cares about what they do. I treat every customer like a family member.

We are a professional moving company. We specialize in local residential and commercial moves. We are known for bringing our customers the highest quality move at the lowest guaranteed price. I am most proud about the way we conduct business, we go above and beyond for each and every customer and it shows. What sets MWM Chicago apart from all the professional moving companies around Chicago is many things. One main point is we are up front about everything, anything a customer gets charged for they must approve beforehand. The main thing that sets us apart from every company in Chicago is that we care. We care about the customers, we care about the customers belongings, and we care period.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We currently have a few things that we are eagerly anticipating. We recently started a campaign with Streetwise which is a non-profit organization that empowers the homeless. We are pursuing several large contracts for the city of Chicago. But our biggest change that we are looking forward to is the addition of several trucks to our always growing fleet in order to serve the people of Chicago.
