Meet Tim Bradley of The Salt Escape

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tim Bradley.

Tim, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I had recently retired as a Captain with the Aurora Fire Department after serving 29 years. I started going to a salt cave in Naperville and immediately felt the benefit and relief. I started going every week for two years. It was at that time I decided to build my own salt cave for others to benefit from as I did.

After 6 months of building my salt cave I opened in December of 2016. 6 months later the cave has had over 2700 people use it and feel the benefits. We have a 5 star rating that we are very proud of.

Spending one hour in our Himalayan Salt Cave is equal to being ocean side for 5 days. You feel the effects immediately. Your sinuses open up along with your lungs. Your skin and hair become soft and your hormones and thyroid benefit from the salt environment. Once you try the cave you will be sure to return as the effects are amazing.

Has it been a smooth road?
Initially it was a little overwhelming. I have never run a salt cave and from the day we opened the response has been huge. The first three weeks the cave was filled with people and I had to learn how to balance that right away. Although I work 90 hours a week at the cave it feels amazing and stress free now. Everybody who comes there loves it. To see the look on their face when they leave the cave is well worth it. Stress just melts away and you feel rejuvenated.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the The Salt Escape story. Tell us more about the business.
Our main draw is our Himalayan Salt Cave. Second to that we have a retail store that sells Himalayan Salt Lamps, cooking salts from all over the world, spices and hot sauces made from Himalayan salt. We now carry Ginger Brew which is an organic ginger drink that people love.

What sets apart from other caves is our attention to every detail of your visit. From the time you call to schedule your appointment. to when you enter the business the stress just drops away. We educate you on the benefits of salt therapy, give you a place to change and get a glass of water and then you enter the cave.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Salt therapy is going to be huge over the next few years. People are looking to more natural and holistic methods to fix their body and maintain it. Salt therapy outside of this country has been around for thousands of years. Outside of here it’s considered a medical procedure and insurance covers your visits. That probably will be coming here over the next few years.
