Please kick things off for us, we’d love to hear the story.
Caliber Restoration is a commercial construction consulting agency which formed in 2016. Incorporated through necessity, Caliber has become a leading force within our industry and aspires to be AMERICAS roofing company one day. Although competition is vast, (40,000+ registered contractors in Illinois) Caliber has grown 10,000% from the previous year. Yes this is NOT a typo. Most roofing companies sustain themselves with an average of 1-5,000,000 million a year. Caliber has a projected book business around $20,000,000. As mentioned before our founders found themselves in a professional rut during the recent financial collapse of our country. Ted (CEO) was a Recruiting Manager for a financial & accounting agency, and Sung (COO) has a network engineering degree from UIC. With years of experience working for other contractors, they soon began to realize the industry needs a DESPERATE make over. With a lackadaisical approach most industry piers only care about job and not to service a client. The poor business acumen, poor quality assurance, and poor clients’ relations have separated us from the rest. We believe the industry need to shape up or get out.
Today we even fix other companies nightmares. Above grade construction (for liability reason you may not want to publish their name) have stolen money from insurance proceeds and abandoned the work. Today with the help of our manufacturers IKO and suppliers Richards Building & Allied Building Products. We will fix their homes for free this year!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Challenges and problem solving is one of our greatest strengths. In fact, it’s what separates us from the rest. Most companies walk away after a jobs is complete. We take the time to form a long lasting relationship, filling out warranties, and revisiting every year to make sure our workmanship is not compromised through weather.
Please tell us about Caliber Restoration.
We specialize in both retail and insurance restoration. Although we are a young corporation, our subcontracts and vendors have been in business for multiple decades. Through the relationships built and with the knowledge that our clients are our lifeline we will never take them or my employees for granted.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
We already have. Took a good look at our operational costs and also vetting employees. We constantly evaluate our company, team, and goals every day.
