Sydney, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I always had dreams of being an entrepreneur. In 2012, I made my mind up I wanted to have my own hair company selling hair extensions. I enjoy wearing hair extensions and why not build a brand of something I love. So, I began to make my dreams a reality, I started to do my research of the best product on the market. I wasn’t having good luck. I knew I wanted to provide the best quality to my customers. So, I researched and researched different vendors, then boom in 2016, I found my vendor. Yes, it took me five years to find the quality I was looking for in my brand. In February 2017, I launched my online store. I began to build my customers by promoting everyday and social media. I made sure I was consistent at everything I did to get my company out there. So, here I am, in 2018 and my business is still going strong.
Has it been a smooth road?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road, especially at times when sales were low, I would have doubt in my company. I overcame it and had to understand that’s part of having a business to never give up and stay consistent. I will say this the ten-year overnight success remark is so true. It’s like a click for most after the 10th year in business.

My company is a hair company. I specialize in mink brazilian hair extensions. The company is known for great quality at a reasonable price. I’m most proud of as a company how I build my brand all by myself. Absolutelty, no handouts and all off a vision I had from the beginning.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love Chicago and my favorite about the city is downtown. The least I like about the city is the crime rate.
