Meet Stephney Bazi of Stephney Martin Photography in Glenview

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephney Bazi.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My first encounter with photography was in high school when I took a film development class. Learning about different ways to capture photos and how to develop them sparked a passion in me. From that moment, I continued to take photos from family events and vacationing. When I reached college, I joined the yearbook committee and took pictures of sporting events and other school activities. It wasn’t until near graduation when I invested in a DSLR camera of my own and started taking portraits of families and couples, and events. More recently, I’ve been doing wedding photography in which I get really excited about. I love meeting different couples and learning about their love story. It’s an honor to be part of their special day and to capture the beautiful moment in which they will cherish forever. I hope to continue to capture these beautiful moments as I continue to grow in the field.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Building up my own business has its challenges. I never expected my life to lead me this direction, since I had a different plan while studying in college. Once I started to take photos of friends and family after graduation, everything started to move in a quick pace. I felt rushed to have everything set from the website to business cards and more. It got overwhelming at times, but I had good support from family and friends. I am constantly learning from other photographers and adjusting along the way as well.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Stephney Martin Photography – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I am a freelance photographer in the Chicago land area that loves to travel. I have taken photos in various settings such as concerts and events, but I specialize in portraits and weddings. As a business owner, I am most proud of making everlasting memories for couples that inspire my work and my life. Having my own business sets me apart from other photographers since I work one on one with my clients. I do not have different people working for me that edit my photos, customize photo books, promote, and so on. I edit each photo one by one and make them unique. I like to know each one of my clients personally, and for them to know me. I establish a bond with my clients that has a lingering effect and I have had the privilege to record many of their lives precious moments.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I look forward to photographing more weddings and meeting more amazing people that inspire my life. I also look forward to expanding my photography nationally and internationally!
