Today we’d like to introduce you to Sheila Tully Driscoll.
Sheila, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I was a student of Irish Dance as I grew up in Chicago. When I was in college, I started teaching Irish Dance in the basement of my parent’s home in 1962 and have continuously taught Irish Step Dancing since then in many locations. My studio is located at 1750 Glenview Road, Glenview, IL.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Sheila Tully Academy of Irish Dance – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
The Sheila Tully Academy of Irish Dance focuses on the development of each student as a person and a dancer. Dancing can be recreational and competitive. Each student can find the level where each feels most comfortable, whether it is in solo dance, ceili dance or choreography competition.
I am proud to have been able to teach thousands of dancers since 1962 and watch each mature as a person and as a dancer. Many of my students, now as parents, have bought their children to my school. It is wonderful to see how well each of the students have progressed in all aspects of their lives. The student’s growth as a person is just as important as how each does in any competition. My philosophy has always been to have each student work hard and excel to the best of each student’s ability. Personal attention to each student is part of their progress as a dancer.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Good luck has been a part of my life.
