Today we’d like to introduce you to Drs. Shefali and Indira Shah.
Mother daughter practice started over 35 years ago. Started as a solo practice with Dr Indira Shah. Many years of hard work as a physician as well as running a business. Dr Shefali Shah joined the practice in 2009. Full scope family practice with all ages and treat all conditions. Moved to a new space about 1.5 years ago which has been very positive for the practice.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
With the ever changing healthcare system and poor reimbursement from insurance companies the last few years have been the toughest to continue to be a private practice. A lot time is taken to make sure billing is done properly and after seeing a full day of patients running a business is another full time job. A few staff changes over the years but we are very fortunate to have an amazing staff 2 who have been with us for 15 plus years.
Park West Family Medicine – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We are a full scope family practice. This encompasses all ages and all conditions. We love the variety that we see makes coming to work exciting, challenging, and rewarding.
We are unique that both physicians speak a few of the Indian dialects Gujarati and Hindi which has opened up our business to many patients of Indian origin who find comfort and confidence in us.
We have great comfort in treating a wide variety of conditions which allows us to avoid a lot of referrals out to specialists. Our staff is the best you can find which makes our jobs on a daily basis a lot easier.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The recent move to a new location and being able to brand our business feels like it’s for the first time my own voice. Seeing the amount of new patients we have been able to bring in over the last year with no advertising is a testament to our care and the confidence our patients have in us to continue to refer their friends and family.

MY family is treated by this group Grp of Dr. from last 25 years or more. They are care loving group of Dr.. Patient well being is there priority than fees. they serve free to the people who can not afford it on individual need and time availability. This group of Dr. does not diagnose health problem only from blood test or xray or any other test only but take overall approach to family history to behavioral habits and put there hearts and mind with extreme belief of God existence and prayer for patient. God has given them good sense to diagnose problem.
I went for first check up and dr. said she doesn’t feel good about my symptoms. Send me for stress test and find out in two days that I have ticking bomb of my heart condition.
Notified my family. She said I can take another opinion my other known DR. But not to wait too long. I had open Bypass heart surgery with three major and 2 other places blockage. ( 90, 80, 75%) aproximate . I have my check up more than regularly. I am 73 years young. I think am in excellent health for my age. Thanks to this group of Dr.
I moved to suburban area from there office (50+ miles away 18 years ago.) But I still drive to there for my every checkup more than dozen times per year.
