Today we’d like to introduce you to Ross Chapman and Nathan Paulsberg.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Ross and Nathan. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Elevated Safety was founded to educate anyone who works with their feet off the ground in safe practices that ensure they make it home safely. We accomplish this through high quality education and training, in accordance with established standards and safe practices.
In the years since we began, our reputation and experience has taken us across the U.S. and internationally. Our staff is passionate about rope access and maintaining safety in the workplace. Elevated Safety remains active in the rope access community though continued training, service on SPRAT committees, and as members of many professional organizations.
Elevated Safety is employee owned and operated, the majority of our rope access technicians and instructors serve as members of Chicago area fire departments are assigned to county and state wide technical rescue teams. We believe that it is this combination of rope access and rescue experience that makes us unique.
In addition to training and performing work at height, Elevated Safety is also a dealer of all major brands of rope access and rescue equipment. We provide unparalleled customer service because when you buy a product from us you are buying from end users of the products. When you call us and ask us which harness you should buy we will take the time to understand your application and industry and then explain the pros and cons of the different harness that will meet your needs. We know the pros and cons because we’ve used them in the real world, they aren’t just part numbers to us.
Has it been a smooth road?
Elevated Safety’s strength has always been our staff. In order to deliver a high-quality product on a daily basis we rely on highly skilled, personable technicians and instructors. In our business there is no margin for error, gravity doesn’t provide second chances so we employ the very best. As our reputation has grown, the demand for the high level of service we provide has also increased. Continuing to expand the business to accept more projects and maintain the high level of service and skill our customers expect is a challenge but one that we welcome and we are excited to meet the needs of our customers down the road.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
Elevated Safety specializes in rope access and rescue projects, training and equipment. This can be something as simple as a window washer who needs to rappel off a tall building to access his work-this would be rope access, to something more complex like the inspection of a large bridge. On the rescue side we train firefighters from all over the country in how to make complex rope rescues, from more basic rescues like removing a victim from a ravine to a more technical rescue such as lowering a victim 400′ off of a cell tower or tower crane. We also provide confined space standby rescue services, fall protection training and provide equipment to conduct rope rescue, rope access and confined space work.
We are known for providing extremely high-level instruction and technical knowledge as well as utilizing the safest, most cutting-edge equipment whether it be in training or on the job site. We believe in clean, simple rigging. We are extremely proud of the Elevated Safety brand, and that it is associated with the highest level of technical skill in the areas of rope rescue, access and confined space work.
We believe our experienced technicians and instructors is what sets us apart from everyone else. Almost all of our instructors and technicians have a background in technical rescue in addition to being SPRAT certified rope access technicians. Our technicians have worked on countless job sites throughout the United States and abroad. Several of our instructors are considered subject matter experts and have had articles published in trade magazines such as Fire Engineering and Facilities Safety Magazine.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Yes, we believe Chicago is a great place for a business like ours. Chicago is centrally located from a national perspective, we bring in students from all over the country and having access to two major airports is a huge asset for those students coming to us for training. In addition, there are countless activities for our students to participate in outside of training, from great restaurants to shows and the best baseball team in the world.. Go Cubs! From a rope access, confined space and rescue standpoint Chicago is home to countless tall buildings in addition to multiple tower cranes, industrial sites, etc. which makes for almost unlimited potential customers for us.
