Today we’d like to introduce you to Brad Young.
After a successful career in investment banking, Brad made the decision to combine his strategic business sense with his knowledge of and passion for the restaurant and nightclub industry, and pursue his lifelong desire to own and operate a hospitality and entertainment development and management company.
Brad entered the hospitality industry in 1998, Brad’s first endeavor was nightclub known as Circus, which completely revolutionized nightlife in Chicago with thrilling circus-inspired acts as live entertainment. After three successful years in the highly competitive field, he co-founded Rockit Ranch Productions in 2002. Under Brad’s leadership and expertise, the nationally-recognized company has opened ten venues in 16 years and continues to expand.
Rockit Ranch Productions’ early years consisted of a partnership at Le Passage nightclub and opening Rockit Bar & Grill in June 2004, a venue that pioneered the transformation of the River North neighborhood into a hospitality mecca. Other award-winning venues opened by the company include: The Underground, Sunda New Asian, and Rockit Burger Bar. Brad and company had also partnered to open and concept several neighborhood favorites including Bottlefork, Ay Chiwowa, The Duck Inn and Otto Mezzo.
With almost 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Brad has become a well-respected household name. By creating cutting edge concepts, he has helped to revolutionize the marketplace, providing their guests with an unparalleled level of elevated entertainment. Young last project expanded Sunda New Asian to Nashville in April of 2018.
Currently, Brad is getting ready to relaunch his most well-known concept, Rockit Bar & Grill, after an almost 7-month renovation.

The restaurant/nightclub/bar business is never a smooth journey. But in order to succeed, one must love the bumps in the road, grab the bull by the horns, and enjoy the ride!

Rockit Bar & Grill has been ground zero of the River North since 2004. Rockit has become a premier destination for Chicagoans and tourists alike. It was the spark that ignited the River North into becoming one of the biggest nightlife and entertainment districts in the country and I cannot be prouder of that accomplishment. It has become THE one-stop-shop for dining, drinking, listening to great Rock music, hanging out with friends to a party, play a game of pool, sing, dance or watch sports. It was the first of its kind and set the stage for “gastropubs” to emulate everywhere.

Chicago is referred to as “The City of Big Shoulders” for a reason. Its people are strong and proud of that moniker, as well as the long history it carries with it. Someone new to the city may find it challenging to excel. Chicago may be the smallest big city in the world. People who live in Chicago, are from Chicago, for the most part, Everyone knows everyone. So, in order to achieve success here newcomers and old, must embrace all the nuances which make Chicago so special.
