Viva Femina was born in the heart of stylist, salon owner and mother of three with a simple ambition: challenge. Behind this exclusive brand Lithuanian matriarch Rasa Krynski, its creator, heart and soul, and brings to the business more than 20 years of experience in the beauty business. As a longtime professional stylist and a beauty salon owner, she was equipped with a long years of practice and well-researched understanding of the needs and wants of modern woman.
Rasa – please share your story with us.
I had an eye and strong passion for beauty industry, which I was introduce at very early age and fell in love with in salon, where my grandmother worked. So pursuing a career in the beauty business was a natural choice and has been the best decision of my life. I studied Cosmetology in Europe and worked in many highly recognized salons, as well with highly profiled photographers, wedding planners, and several beauty industry professionals. After moving to United States because of my entrepreneurial spirit I opened a Beauty salon. I was not satisfied and frustrated with the quality of hair products that was available on the market for my own and my clients use. Finding products that were not as advertised, I felt that I need to fill void in the hair industry with a premier products, knowledgeable and customer orientated business. With much time and countless hours of lost sleep, travel with my patient and supportive husband, around the world and much more hard work, along with a passion for beauty and incredible knowledge of the industry and extensive research, that let us to go directly to the sources in order to find and develop a products that could offer all that me and my customers were looking for, we established invaluable contacts within manufacturing communities and had a foundation laid out for a great product company! All this extensive research paid off and we were able to bring outstanding products to the market. We created a complete line of highest quality hair extensions. Very shortly after our ever expanding hair extensions product collections naturally progressed into development of top-of-the-shelf hair care and hair styling line, hair tools, brushes and a collection of hair accessories. We also marked another milestone in our history by launching a Showroom in Chicago, with a focus on providing a one stop experience within luxury environment and complete indulgence for our customers. As well as Viva Femina collaborating with country’s leading salons, spas and nail bars to serve its bellowed customers better.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I believe when we assimilate what we have learned from the difficulties we have overcome, we can then celebrate them as a blessings and continue to grow. We worked really hard on it, so people can have this amazing opportunity to use and share beautiful products and entrepreneurial opportunities. I wasn’t just a business owner, I was a creative director, developer, marketing guru, sales manager and on the top of all this, a MOM of three kids, so I was wearing many hats. It takes a lots of time to be that involved and multitask it all, but business was my priority so I was working 16 hours a day and I did it literally on my sleep time. We’re been through so many ups and downs. We had good times and bad times. It’s really hard to build a business of this size. I knew that the business of that caliber will take at least 5-7 years, but on the top a lots of different things slowed us down. I was in the middle of toughest periods in my life, going through cancer scare, having 8 intensive surgeries in 2 years, raise money for business, trying to keep business going and trying to spend more time with my family, my kids. I knew if I’m too withdrawn, I don’t think my family can overcome that. I had to show myself, my partner and my employers that I am strong and were ok. I was a do’er and even I was working countless hours with nothing to show through yet and I’ve got 3 children that also needed me, every day I looked forward to my job, because I love what I do, and I think if you love something in life you automatically become loyal and truthful to it. For me dedication means pursuing my passion every day. It’s my passion that got us through good and bad times and I always stick to it. When I was working on this project I had difficulty sleeping, I couldn’t turn my mind off, and I was very driven with slight obsession. I go extremely hard on myself and on others, I will not let a minute, a second to get past without perfecting my work piece. I was super picky, because I know that people who was going to use our products will be picky too, but also they do deserve the best! I live my brand every day.
