Meet Raquel Baez of Burst of Radiance Coaching in Lakeview

Today we’d like to introduce you to Raquel Baez.

Raquel, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
A few years back, I was in a place in my life which called me to explore myself on a deeper level than I had ever done. My first spark of inspiration was to take on a physical and spiritual challenge which manifested as my certification as a Yoga instructor. Over the course of 2-3 months, I pushed myself beyond my comfort zone in many ways and realized there was tremendous empowerment that came from it. I was also very blessed to be a part of a very special group of women that not only inspired me but became both lifelong friends and catalysts for my growth.

Following this amazing experience I was feeling called again to keep pursuing more personal growth but didn’t know that this would ultimately help me define how I wanted to make an impact on this world. After some encouragement from friends and family, I started researching life coaching certification programs. I always knew that creating strong connections with others and helping them grow was going to be part of my path. After finding IPEC, I knew that the level of depth and rigor of the program was going to be well worth the process. Again, I went through so much personal transformation and awareness through the 9-month program, I knew my life would never be the same. I learned how important it is to create a strong foundation of self-love and empowerment in ourselves and I wanted to help women specifically find that fire in themselves as well.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I believe all great things come with challenges, they teach us to appreciate the effort it takes to reach that place or goal. Personally, it is very important for me to continue growing and be honest with myself in order to be a strong support to my clients and those close to me in my life.

I feel very strongly that the root of what I do is so much more valuable than any price I could ask for. As a result, I found myself giving a lot of free coaching to women without thinking twice about it. But, I later realized that this was based in the fear that I wouldn’t be able to reach as many women because of the financial obstacle that it may pose. I re-envisioned my approach where I could feel confident in the value of the my time and energy and find alternatives for those that I could help the most.

Burst of Radiance Coaching – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I created Burst of Radiance Coaching as a way to reach women who are looking to take the reigns of their life and do the deep work within themselves to then stand in their true power. Life coaching is not about a coach giving people the answers to their obstacles, it is about that individual finding the answers in themselves through exploration, vulnerability and authenticity.

As a life coach, my approach is patient, honest, empathetic and rooted in deeper energetic exploration. I specialize in life purpose and relationship coaching for women. I also incorporate mindfulness and meditative elements in to my sessions.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success for me, first and foremost, would be witnessing a client achieve substantial personal growth. Additionally, I would like to grow my coaching business to reach more women in a way that emphasizes quality and care.
