Today we’d like to introduce you to Pooja Naik.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was born in India and lived there until my teens. Even as a child, I liked my toys organized and tried to help other kids organize their dolls. This carried into my adult life, so one could say I always had an innate ability for organizing. I always had an entrepreneurial spirit but wanted to start a business built on my passion and something that would impact others positively. So, I researched a career in professional organizing. At that time, there were about 4000 professional organizers in the country. I found the National Association of Professional Organizers, started taking workshops, reading books and talking to other professionals in the industry and successfully launched my business in 2009.
Has it been a smooth road?
There were definitely hurdles, as there are in any business I suppose. In this particular industry, it was challenging to get people to understand the value in hiring and paying an expert to help them get organized. Most people want to get organized but don’t believe they can be helped or that a service could benefit them. Contributing through my writing and my personal work with clients has helped changed that mindset.

Organizing With You, Inc. is a small business offering professional organizing services for the home or office to the entire Chicagoland area. We help clients declutter, downsize and implement customized organizational systems. Our goal is to maximize space and minimize stress and to help clients function more efficiently in their physical space. We also help with relocation and time management. I’m most proud the fact that we not only help our clients get organized but also stay organized beyond our services. We set maintenance plans for our clients and often serve as their accountability partners as they achieve their organizing goals. We recognize that organizing is an ongoing process and we strive to impart organizing skills that can be long-lasting.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Absolutely. With time and space both limited in city living, this is the best place to serve clients struggling with disorganization. If someone was starting out, I definitely recommend hiring a Professional Organizer (at least once) to get neutral, unbiased, professional expertise on how to become more organized. The city could offer more storage locations and more free resources that publish about services such as ours so city residents are aware that they don’t have to live in chaos and can get the help they need.

- We charge by the hour ($85/hour) and offer discounted rates for 5, 10 ,15, 20 hour packages etc.
