Meet Paul Kludac of Detail Kings in Downers Grove

Today we’d like to introduce you to Paul Kludac.

Paul, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
On my sixteenth birthday I got hired at Delta Sonic and took a position as a “detailer” in the detail shop. On my first year of employment I was awarded the “Employee of the Year and Employee of all Chicagoland locations.” At the age of seventeen I was managing the detail shop and just as an electrician does side jobs, I started detailing cars out of my mother’s garage and realized I could provide a more superior and efficient service than what Delta Sonic offered.

Detail Kings started as a one man operation. I was the owner slash operator of a small business that took off over the years. I realized at an early age that I lacked discipline and leadership qualities that was essential to taking this business to the next level. On my sophomore year of college where I was studying business management and marketing at Benedictine University I enrolled in the United States Marine Corps where I learned the essentials to take this business to the top.

Detail Kings is headquartered in Downers Grove, Illinois. Our main location is at 3500 Lacey Rd. Downers Grove, IL 60515. We detail between 50-100 cars daily at our shop and mobile units go to numerous office buildings throughout the Chicagoland area. Our mobile units carry our own water, electricity, and materials to perform any of our services that are offered on our menu. The buildings that we work with love that this amenity of getting your car washed or detailed at their office is very beneficial and convenient.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Like all things in life you live and learn. Detail Kings has seen its up’s and down’s over the years. The struggles that we occurred over the years was trying to stay consistently busy throughout the year. It seemed that over the summer we couldn’t keep up with the demand and over the winter this business like the weather got cold.

When you manage as many employees as I do, employees can be a huge obstacle or challenge. I am blessed that we have a great team and continue to grow year after year.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Detail Kings story. Tell us more about the business.
Detail Kings is a full-service hand car wash and detail shop. If you are looking to improve the appearance of your vehicle we are the shop you want to receive service from! We specialize in the reconditioning your automobiles interior and exterior. We do this by washing, claying, buffing, waxing, shampooing, scrubbing etc.

Detail Kings is known for exceptional customer care, outstanding value, and convenience for your needs. We offer pick up/drop off service from your home or office. We even bring our shop to your office with our mobile units that carry everything we need to get your car looking better than the day you bought it.

As a company, we have been awarded numerous awards and recognition for the work we do. I am very proud to announce that in 2016 we were named Business of the Year by the Downers Grove and Woodridge Chamber of Commerce. I measure our success on the thousands of happy customers we service every year. I am also very proud of our Google, Yelp, Facebook and Angie’s List Reviews where we are considered an A+ rated business or a 5 star business.
