Today we’d like to introduce you to Patricia Trimble.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Patricia. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I have worked as a healer in Chicago for over 30 years. My journey began in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where I attended Jay Scherer’s Academy of Natural Healing. Dr. Jay Scherer was a famous naturopath and healer and from him, I learned that true healing takes place in the spirit, that it is imparted through the spirit.
Since then, I have studied and trained in a number of systems, including, Chinese Medicine, Structural Therapy, and Shamanic Healing with Hawaiian elders. Over time, I’ve learned to combine what I’ve learned for those who come to me, never forgetting that the body and the spirit are one.
Has it been a smooth road?
Like everyone else, I can be challenged by the roller coaster of the economy. But people have always sought me out, for which I am very grateful. The other challenge in doing this kind of work is keeping one’s own energy high. I have worked on this by doing martial arts, primarily Qi Gong and Chen Tai Chi.
These forms require you to build Qi, breath and help teach you how to direct your energy. I have studied with Master Daniel Pesina since 1998. This has been an invaluable experience and very fun.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Patricia Trimble, L.Ac., Healing Arts story. Tell us more about the business.
People are different and they need different approaches. Having worked on thousands of people I’ve learned how to vary and combine different healing techniques in order to be effective. At its core, however, my treatments combine the energetics of acupuncture with the very physical work of massage, while paying great attention to nutrition, diet, and lifestyle.
At this point, I think of myself more as a health coach. I look for the energy leak in people and try to help them fix that as soon as possible. My office space is very relaxed. I view that as an important part of the treatment. People need a quiet space where they can connect with themselves.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
The need for health care and preventive care never diminishes. This country has an aging population that wants to remain active mentally and physically. I also think that people are becoming more aware of what good health requires and are willing to invest in that.
