Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Maholy.
Nicole, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I took an interest in a natural approach to health at a young age, with a love for yoga, and essential oils. I would go to the gym with my dad early in the mornings before school to stay fit and healthy. Given my interest in a wholesome approach to health, chiropractic was a natural career choice for me. During chiropractic school, I worked as a massage therapist for a few different chiropractors, and decided to take the leap and start my own practice right out of school. My husband, Chris, had started his own chiropractic practice almost 2 years earlier so he played a huge role in getting Remedy off the ground. We worked together at Remedy for 4 years before he got the call to follow his childhood dream of becoming a Chicago firefighter. Since then, I have been the main chiropractic physician at Remedy, providing chiropractic care, acupuncture therapy, as well as nutrition and functional medicine to our patients. Chris still sees patients on occasion but his main focus is on fighting fires in Chicago. We also offer therapeutic massage, and have the best office manager in the world. She’s an angel named Andrea.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road, but having a great team has made the challenges that much easier. In the healthcare industry, there are always challenges associated with insurance carriers, so Andrea has become an expert in helping us navigate through those issues.

At Remedy Natural Medicine, we take a refreshingly natural approach to health and wellness. We offer nutrition, functional medicine, chiropractic care, massage therapy, and acupuncture. Dr. Nicole takes a special interest in working with patients that have gastrointestinal issues, but we work with a wide variety of health complaints. We believe that health is the product of one’s dietary intake, environmental/toxin exposure, mental-emotional state, activity level, and genetics. Disease is also a product of these same factors. At Remedy, we focus on those components we have the ability to influence and shift the pendulum from the path to disease back toward the path to health. Our mission is to teach, inspire and empower people to successfully manage a healthy lifestyle in our fast-paced society, changing the mindset from “I can’t do this” to “I got this”. We are most proud of our comprehensive approach, and the care we take with people. When people trust us with something as important as their health, it is an honor that we don’t take lightly and we do everything we can to help them. I think that’s what sets us apart from others.

My parents and siblings have been a huge support system and have always lent an ear when I’ve had struggles and needed advice. I absolutely couldn’t do my job without the support and advice of my husband, Chris, and our office manager, Andrea. They are both amazing! Our patients of course play a major role in our success and every day I am grateful for the lovely people that have given me the honor of helping them on their health journey.
