Today we’d like to introduce you to Nat Truitt and Mark Heintz.
Nat and Mark, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
We began 1776 Senior Care as a premium in-home senior care service because through our entrepreneurial and personal backgrounds we saw an opportunity to do things in the world of senior care differently and better.
With our aging parents and grandparents, we both saw how tough navigating the changes that advancing age brings can be. We each faced personal situations including medical emergencies and the onset of dementia with our loved ones that made us recognize how valuable it is for families to have trusted resources and the knowing guidance and expertise of someone like a 1776 Senior Care Case Manager to turn to. We also saw how truly crucial it can be to have the right hands on deck to help care for aging loved ones on a daily basis.
We want to create a movement where we can bring joy to people in the last chapter of their lives and peace to families who have to go through those transitions. We do our best to live that mission day in and day out.
In terms of how our company is poised to grow through franchising, Senior Care is a great business for executives who want to do well while doing good. We like to share the 1776 way with other like-minded people. It’s possible to have a great life while helping other people and we are looking to expand 1776 Senior Care with the right people who embrace our values and mission.
We love small business, and we love franchising where we can see a lot of positive growth and impact from our efforts.
Has it been a smooth road?
Like many small businesses, we were trying to be everything to everyone in the beginning. Then, we pivoted the business and began to specialize in what we do best, which is matching caregivers and seniors, and structuring our organization in a way that ensures quality control redundancies are in place at every turn.
We applied lessons that we learned in other businesses that we owned. When it came time to build processes and leverage mobile technology in new ways to support our growth that was huge because we also quickly faced the challenge of ramping up fast enough to serve what was the previously un-met demand in the marketplace for premium senior care service at market rates.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
At 1776 Senior Care we are known for our expertise and our commitment to quality when it comes to senior care. This extends to how we manage our corporate culture. We only work with caregivers who are as committed as we are in our mission to bring joy to seniors every day.
Most of our business has been built through referrals. We credit the high-level of customer satisfaction we have to the ongoing communications and client feedback loop which we use technology to facilitate in real time.
We also have strong connections in the communities we serve so you will see our company supporting many local organizations and activities like 5K runs, 4th of July parades, school auctions, youth sports, and more.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
We see tremendous need across Chicagoland for premiere in-home senior care, and find that we have access to a terrific talent pool of both professionals who are degreed in social work and have specialties in Gerontology in this area, and Caregivers who are passionate about helping the elderly.
So in the case of our sector we would say Chicago is a great place to be doing business.
