Meet Nadine Shehaiber of NS Real Estate in River North

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nadine Shehaiber.

Nadine brimming with creativity and ambition, it is no wonder that she ventured into starting her own real estate business after building a successful corporate career. With a resume chock-full of big names like Deloitte, McDonalds, and Walgreens corporate, her background in business management provided her the leadership skills necessary to start NS Real Estate.

But her detour into real estate wasn’t entirely intentional.  “It started with one of my friends saying she wanted to be a realtor. I had always been interested in it so we decided to take the class together,” she explains. Ultimately, her friend didn’t pursue it, but Nadine did. Deciding it was going to be a side job for fun, working part-time for family and friends, didn’t last long! As more and more people recognized her talent, her business quickly grew. For six years she worked with Coldwell Banker in the Southwest suburbs of Chicago, focusing mainly on single family homes. Following her demographic and age group, Nadine transitioned her business to the city, focusing on residential sales. Now with over 15 years of experience, Nadine is a top producer with the #1 brokerage in Chicago, @properties.  NS Real Estate brings together home selling, buying, investing, and interior design, all under one umbrella.

Though NS Real Estate uniqueness surely helped it become what it is today, it was no doubt propelled by her strong values, drive and passion. Growing up in Dubai, she was inspired from a young age by beautiful buildings and the people that lived in them. When looking at any home, she recognizes that someone is going to build their life story within those walls. “This isn’t just a job or profession for me, I grew up appreciating it,” she says. And although she started off in the corporate world, it is clear that taking that path helped her stand out in the real estate world.

“The skills I acquired while working in my corporate profession, like consultative skills, clear and concise communications, empathy along with  powerful presentation, time management, and relationship management, set me apart from my peers,” she says. “I feel when people approach real estate they focus on money mostly and forget about all the other things that make this business successful, like the relationship management aspect.  These are real people making the biggest purchase or sale in their lives, not a transaction.” Even after years of working in real estate, she never forgets the importance of each client. “Any client can just be a client, and any transaction can be a transaction. It’s the value that you bring to the clients that is important. It’s the way you help them build that story.”

Her clients stay with her for years because of her outlook and energy. “There is undeniable strength in individuals who congruently lead lives in which their philosophies and actions are one. Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No such thing as an easy path.  Anything that is worth having is worth working hard for.  Real estate, much like any other industry, is cyclical.  Meaning, the market at times can be very unstable and unpredictable.  You have to stay on your toes with adjusting to the times including marketing approaches, outreach, engaging a wider audience, selling techniques, etc.  Especially with the new generational gaps. I had to learn how to use snapchat, but to be honest still don’t!

I have over 15 years of residential real estate expertise, winning multiple awards and representing hundreds of buyers and sellers.
