Today we’d like to introduce you to Milton Taylor.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Milton. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Well, I’m a Chicago native that grew up in a single parent household. Though I have somewhat of a relationship with my father now. Then, he was not present, his absence stirred the gift of writing. I began to vent and release through writing poems which soon would gradually move its way into music. So, as an adolescent, I sharpened my skills through my life experience. The Lord drew me to himself in December of 2007 on a Sunday. I heard the gospel of Jesus Christ and desired to use all he had given me for HIS glory, including my gift. In 2014 some would say I went on a tear: releasing consecutive singles and freestyles which created a buzz for my Christian Hip Hop (CHH) debut EP entitled “God Glorified” released in March 2015 and coming back in December, that same year releasing the “Strange land” EP. I ended that year with the honors of becoming a 2016 Freshman on Rapzilla.com list of up and coming artist to check for in the following year. I feel as though my career is just beginning, the Lord has been so kind! Announced this past May was the news of me joining the NFTRY (infantry) Team alongside some dope artist and bottom line great men. I changed my name from “Brother 3″to “THRE” because the Lord was doing something new with me, I felt it was fitting and the timing could be more perfect. This year, I am set to release new music (time Undetermined) but until then people can enjoy my latest Single release in May entitled “I Know A Man” ft Evan Ford.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No, it has not been a smooth road. At times it felt as though I was making music and no-one was listening, that can be discouraging. Yeah your family and friends become your first supporters (hopefully) but it’s when people who don’t know you take the time out to listen and give you feedback, good or bad that’s when you began to feel like a real artist, because your product is being downloaded/purchased or streamed by strangers that will one-day become family through connecting to the music. Also early on the quality of my music wasn’t that great. I had no relationships with producers, engineers, vocalist I mean the list goes on. Definitely were humble beginnings.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Christian Hip Hop Artist THRE f.ka Brother 3 – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I am a Christian Hip Hop artist. I take a blank canvas and create with a focus to bring hope to the hopeless situation. Thing I believe sets me apart is the fact that Christ is the center of what I do. The message is clear in the music.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I just desire to continue to put out quality music that point to the Father. And if that happen to take me around the world, then, praise God.
