Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Rae Sobi.
Michelle, please share your story with us.
I have been involved in fitness since age 14 and have been teaching yoga for almost a decade. I specialize in all levels classes so that anyone who comes to class can enjoy yoga, regardless of experience. I offer yoga teacher training and my program is endorsed by The American Council on Exercise and Yoga Alliance. I am a published author of “The Yoga Asana Handbook” and “Yoga Snippets.” I hold the RYT 500 and my school is registered with Yoga Alliance and The American Council on Exercise.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
About a decade ago I was in a debilitating accident and was told I would live the remainder of my days with limited mobility. Not willing to accept defeat, I began taking yoga classes. Needless to say, the doctors were wrong. I made a full recovery by taking charge of my health through yoga.
Please tell us about Power Edge Yoga.
My love for yoga grew into becoming a yoga instructor, subsequently opening a yoga studio, and ultimately opening a yoga teacher training school, Edge Yoga School. I offer the most affordable yoga classes and teacher training in town because I want to make it accessible to all. I feel that yoga can still be a bit elitist and want to offer a friendlier kind of yoga that most people can do.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I would have begun my journey sooner.
