Meet Michael Santangelo of Windy City Elvis Productions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Santangelo.

Michael, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I kicked off my entertainment business (operating as CEO and main entertainer) in 2005. Funny enough, I feel that I embarked on this journey mostly out of a hunger to be challenged by something I really had no reason to pursue, in that I never sang publicly prior to that and outside of my “costume,” look nothing at all like Elvis. Those odds against me, I still had a laser-like focus on learning the nuances of my voice (without voice lessons) and developing an act worthy of an audience and moreover, someone to value it enough to pay me for it.

Since my launch date, I’ve performed well over 500 times for corporate events, private functions, outdoor summer fests and so on, all over the Chicago area, as well as in the surrounding states. I’ve had the pleasure of performing at esteemed venues such as the RAVE CONCERT HALL in Milwaukee, the VAL AIR BALLROOM in Des Moines and the VIC THEATRE in Chicago. Additionally, I’ve entertained and impressed audiences of thousands at professional sports stadiums such as the SEARS CENTRE ARENA, the UNITED CENTER for the Chicago Bulls game and CELLULAR FIELD for the Chicago White Sox game. In addition to being featured in CRAIN’S CHICAGO BUSINESS magazine, my credentials also include appearing on television, like on the WGN MORNING SHOW, and being interviewed and filmed for a special which aired on FOX NEWS the week of Elvis’s birthday that showcased my story as an entertainer and Elvis Tribute Artist.

My passion for entertaining and my reputation as a high quality vocalist and performer has led to an ever growing fan base and numerous opportunities in “Showbiz.”

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has been a rather smooth and blessed road thus far. Starting out, the challenge was mainly understanding the market place, honing my craft as an entertainer, determining pricing tiers, and establishing a reputation that would foster future business by way of referral and repeat performances. As long as the passion exists, as well as a little bit of talent, one can usually create their own opportunity and experience some degree of success in anything at all.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Michael St. Angel is The Elvis Entertainer for all occasions. Not only does Michael have the Look and the Moves, most importantly Michael St. Angel has The Voice, making his performance and presentation a valued and professional production from start to finish. Michael has an eye for detail and that is obvious in the first few minutes of his taking the stage (all areas of his wardrobe are exact replicas of Elvis’ and his moves on stage are clearly reminiscent of the King’s own shoulder-shaking, hip-swiveling, arm-lassoing frolics from his movie years in the 50’s and 60’s and live concerts in the 1970’s). His tribute is one of great respect and sincerity, and his own character comes shining through with his colorful personality and sense of humor that immediately captivates his audiences.

Whatever the situation calls for, Michael will be sure to accommodate your requests. His shows can include an abbreviated, yet exciting guest spot; or a 60-80 minute high-energy set of classic Elvis songs- essential Elvis rockers and romantic ballads alike- in the style of one of Elvis’ live Las Vegas concerts; or multiple hour-long sets, along with costume changes, covering his most famous songs spanning all eras of Elvis’ blessed career. Live band options are also available. His show can be specifically tailored to completely satisfy your needs on all fronts.

If you are looking for Elvis entertainment for your corporate event, summer festival, wedding or birthday party, any occasion or event at all, look no further than Michael St. Angel, The Elvis Entertainer.

What were you like growing up?
Oddly, I did not stumble into or show much interest in performing or singing until my early 20’s. I was always attracted to Oldie’s and musical styles and genres from the 1950’s through the 1980’s vs. staying more current like most people my age. Personality-wise, I was always outgoing and connecting with people on a humorous level. My personality was seemingly always honed for performing in some capacity. I’m grateful to have found a very gratifying outlet for it when I did.
