Today we’d like to introduce you to Drs. Michael and Magdy Awad.
Women’s Health Group has been providing comprehensive and compassionate medical care to women of the greater Chicago area for over 30 years. From adolescence through menopause, our physicians and staff provide expertise in all aspects of Gynecology and Obstetrics with personalized health care that utilizes the most up to date quality care.
Dr. Magdy K. Awad has treated generations of women for over 30 years in the Chicago-land area. After serving as staff surgeon at Mercy Hospital, Dr. Awad was recruited by the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Since going into private practice, he has helped several generations of patients in Chicago. Dr. Awad – simply known as “Doc” within the community – has been one of the pioneers of women’s in our coveted area.
In 2012, Dr. Michael M. Awad, his son joined him in continuing the legacy. Working side by side, the father son duo has remained one of the last private OB/GYN practices in the Chicago area. This is a true rarity amidst the soaring overhead costs and a dynamic healthcare reimbursement climate today. Most private clinics have either chosen to sell to a hospital or larger health care facility. Yet this private clinic maintains a fervent resolve continuing to overcome these challenges care for people, not just diseases.
As physicians that have such longitudinal relationships with their patients, delivering babies of babies delivered within the practice has become one of the most compelling stories we love to tell. In fact, Dr. Michael Awad is now caring for patients that once cared for him as a new born infant. The full circle of life is told within the hallowed walls of our practice.
Both physicians hold academic appointments at Loyola University Medical Center. In addition, continue to train Physician Assistants from Midwestern university.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
It’s difficult starting out on your own. Especially in Cook County where mal-practice insurance premiums run well into the six figures. While it is not likely, seeing tort reform come to Illinois would help individual practices keep afloat and maintain the best part of our practice- personal relationships with our patients.
