Today we’d like to introduce you to Matthew Schwartz.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started with two computers and a cable modem out of my house. Now I have 22 staff members building software every day! We build mostly web technology, but also mobile apps, stand-alone systems, kiosk software, and more. We work with small, medium and large business across virtually every industry.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
All businesses encounter challenges. We’ve had to deal with the dot-com bust and other economic downturns. We’ve had employees who have gone bad. We’ve had clients come and go. But through it all, we have persevered and we have grown through it all.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about NELIX, Inc. – what should we know?
NELiX builds software. We specialize in web-based software, but we also build apps and software of many different natures. We specialize in finding solutions to very complex problems, and marrying may different technologies together. We specialize in integration with 3rd party API’s. We specialize in manipulating data. We specialize in a great many things. We have a very strong team of designers and programmers, and the software we produce is top notch. There is almost nothing we haven’t done before.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Love of technology. Not one person on our staff chose a technical career because it was a good career choice. We all chose a technical career because we love technology. We love to learn. We love to conquer challenges. We love to geek out. We have a great time build software.
