Today we’d like to introduce you to Mark Deutsch.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I began cutting and sewing leather goods in high school. After high school, I bought part of the leather goods business that I had been working for. When my partner passed away 4 years later unexpectedly, I took over the entire business. Over the years, we have changed our product offerings in order to capture larger and different potential markets. Currently, our core product competencies lie with manufacturing industrial curtains, PCA hoses, and custom sewn and radio frequency welded containment units.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has not always been a smooth ride- there have been many bumps and curves on the road. For example, in 2001 our core product was PCA hoses, which are used to ventilate aircraft while they are at the gate.
After September 11th, the aviation industries cut their spending drastically and we saw a marked downturn in the sales of our PCA hoses. This bump forced us to diversify our product line, and in a fairly direct way, helped us wind up making industrial curtains, which are currently one of our main products.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with AmCraft Manufacturing – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Most of our products use vinyl fabric as their basis. Our categories of products include industrial, thermal, and acoustic curtains, flexible containment units, and PCA hoses. We are best known within our industry for having the tenacity to take on custom and involved projects, providing above average customer service, and producing finished products that are a quality caliber.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Over the past few years, we have put a lot of effort into expanding and developing our product lines. Countless hours have gone into product development and quality control, and we feel that we now offer our best and most comprehensive array of products.
In the coming months, we hope to dig in and get comfortable with all of our offerings, thus increasing our confidence is sharing them with our customers. Additionally, we have plans to increase our marketing potential. We want everyone who needs one of our products to know that AmCraft is the place to go for a high-quality experience.
