Today we’d like to introduce you to Marcus Rashad.
Marcus, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My story began when I decided that I was done accepting mediocrity in my life and allowing for my talent to be wasted. I had just got kicked out of college and was headed nowhere fast. It was because of a mentor of mine and a production that he produced that changed my entire journey. With that theater production, I had to fight to even be an understudy and when I received my opportunity I didn’t let it pass me up. After that play I knew that the entertainment industry was my calling. I began writing, directing, acting and producing my own plays and film and shortly after I began curating events. I never knew how passionate I was about creating until I realized how many people I was helping. Being able to help people do what they love stuck with me. I couldn’t think about myself when I was writing or curating, it was always about how to create a platform for others to thrive. When I moved back to Chicago I wanted to do just that… create a company that’s main focus was developing talent right on the spot. Paradigm CreatVe Group is a premier creative agency where our main focus is creating platforms for all art forms. No matter if it’s dancing, singing, acting, painting, cooking it never matters! Having the opportunity to work with so many people from all walks of life and see where the end up at is what keeps my going.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No Journey is smooth and if anyone says otherwise, please point me to the magic genie they use because I need it! Lol the beautiful thing about the journey is embracing the obstacles that come and owning the mistakes that you’ve made along the way. Whether it be people you’ve hurt or being misled down horrible business ventures, owning the wins and learnings (I don’t consider anything a loss) makes you into the better version of yourself every day. The key for me is being completely transparent with myself and knowing when I’m right and when I’m wrong and when I’m wrong learning how I can correct it so I can be a better person in business.

Paradigm CreatVe Group is a premiere creative agency where we focus on creating a platform for individuals in the arts. There is nothing that we are afraid to embrace within the arts and no community, culture we don’t accept. We believe that art is universal and welcoming different energies within our circle helps us to grow, keeps us on our toes and lets us appreciate the talent people have for what it is and not for what we want it to be. We are known for are self-coined “Social Art Parties”. Where we mix the arts within a party environment! Giving the patrons a taste of both worlds. We understand the value of having a great time but we never shy away from making sure our artist take full advantage of the people in the rooms! This helps artist break out of their shell and become social able which also helps them learn how to network themselves. Everything we are a part of is an experience! Nothing is mundane. I’m proud of how I can wake up every day and say I helped people accomplish goals in their life. That’s what makes me happy. That’s what keeps my drive alive.

What’s so beautiful about accomplishments, are the people that helped you receive them! I take no credit for self. My team of creatVes are strong! My family within the arts and outside of the arts have molded me into who I am becoming today. NOTHING could have been without them. I’m pretty big on showering people with praise or acknowledging greatness so my core know who they are. BUT there would be no me without the ultimate source and my mother. I’m pretty tough to deal with sometimes and being able to love and receive loves comes from those two powers infinitely.
