So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
MAXiM Hair Restoration was founded three years ago to meet the needs of men and women who suffer from hair loss and looking for a natural, permanent and affordable solution.
We started our flagship site in New York City and quickly expanded to Chicago which is a huge market for hair transplantation.
The organization was funded by physician investors and was based on the premises of differentiating effectively from other providers by performing MEGA Sessions to provide a great result in one session; making it affordable and utilizing surgeons to perform hair transplant procedures.
Surgical hair restoration, popularly known as hair transplantation, was gaining popularity simply because they worked and virtually eliminated the need for ongoing maintenance.
Today, MAXiM has locations in New York City, Long Island, Chicago, Northern Virginia/DC, Dallas and Newport Beach, California. The organization is growing rapidly.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
New ventures and early stage growth is always challenging.
Finding qualified physicians, hair techs, and sales professionals is not easy and having them work together and gel is another hurdle that needs to be overcome.
The greatest challenge is long distance management and operating multiple locations across the country.
Please tell us about MAXiM Hair Restoration.
MAXiM Hair Restoration offers both surgical hair transplants and non-surgical hair restoration solutions including Scalp Micropigmentation.
MAXiM was formed to differentiate between other providers, many of whom were NOT necessarily surgeons (The MAXiM doctor in Chicago is a quadruple Board Certified facial plastic surgeon, Dr. John Rachel).
Our team performs MEGA Sessions up to 4,000 Grafts whereas most other providers averaged 1,000 to 1,500 grafts per session. Each graft consists of one to three hair follicles.
At MAXiM, hair restoration is all we do and we do it well. Most other centers offer multiple procedures and services.
Last but not least, MAXiM makes hair restoration very affordable.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Coming to the United States for the first time was a great memory. It was exciting, thrilling and adventurous.
A new home, a new country, a new challenge and a new culture. It’s been a great ride.
