My journey began when my parents assigned me to bookkeeping for their small business at the age of nine. I discovered a passion for numbers. My early exposure to business led to completing undergraduate studies at Robert Morris University majoring in accounting. In 2011, I earned a Master of Business Administration with a major in Management. It was my objective to comprehend and solve issues managing businesses.
My professional experience includes Senior Accountant, Accounting Supervisor, Tax Auditor and Payroll Manager. In these roles, I developed a sincere passion for interpreting tax law to assist individuals, businesses, estates and not for profit organizations. My tax auditor experience was my most enjoyable experience from the perspective of learning about tax compliance. It also provided insight on the necessity of tax professionals that represent individuals and organizations when preparing tax returns, discussing tax notices and representations when being audited.
In February 2015, I became a tax return preparer and founded Blade Tax & Accounting. In the same year, In the same year, we were approved as an authorized IRS electronic file provider. In 2017, we changed our name to Blade Tax Services, to focus exclusively on the tax issues of our clients. In March 2017, I became an Enrolled Agent with the Department of the Treasury, Internal Revenue Service. An Enrolled Agent is the only IRS licensed tax professional. Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The challenges with operating a tax practice are competing with better-known tax offices. I believe that our tax law knowledge to deliver tax saving strategies that result in more money in clients pockets will help us to overcome the challenge. It is also a challenge to increase awareness of the implications of ignoring tax strategies. This means, really taking into consideration the taxable income received, tax deductions and credits which you qualify for and ensuring you maximize tax reduction opportunities.

Blade Tax Service is a tax practice which offers Income and Payroll tax return preparation, planning, and audit representation. We specialize in preparing income tax returns for individuals, and corporations (both S & C). Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite memory from childhood is having both Mom and Dad in my home. It is a blessing that I did not fully appreciate until becoming an adult. Not only did I have both parents, I had loving siblings and a really happy childhood. I did not always have what I wanted, but always had what I needed. My parents nurtured, loved, taught and held all of us accountable to their expectations.
