Today we’d like to introduce you to Lorenzo Tanbour.
Lorenzo, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
18 years ago I decided to have lunch with my brother in his salon and I was amazed at how the women came in and the difference in how they left. Every woman left with confidence, happiness, and feeling great and powerful. It was in that moment I decided to become a hair stylist.
I started young and had the opportunity to work for the top salons in Jordan. I went from doing my sister’s hair to becoming the top stylist. I was invited to the castle to do the Princesses hair, did photo shoots for U magazine, and morning television shows.
I attended the American Beauty Show in Chicago and I fell in love with the city and its people. I then became an educator with Moroccan Oil and started to work with the top salons in Chicago. I then had the opportunity to be on Fox News showcasing Summer Hair Trends last year.
Doing hair isn’t a job for me, its personal and what I love to do. I continue to educate myself on the latest trends and styles so anyone and everyone can have exactly what they want and feel beautiful.
Has it been a smooth road?
Of course it’s been a hard and long road because you start from the beginning when you know nothing about doing hair and putting hours and hours of working and learning about how sensitive hair can be and how important it is to us.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Lorenzo Tanbour – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I specialize in Balayage hair painting, wedding and luxury, red carpet looks. I’m known for my blow dry’s and styling skills. My talent sets me apart from others and comes from 18 years’ experience and knowledge working in various countries, with different cultures and keeping myself up to date. My clients always leave with a smile!
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
The best thing about Chicago is how friendly the people are, how easy it is to create a network and the amazing summers.
The one thing I dislike about Chicago is the summer humidity because it ruins the clients’ hair.
