So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
One day, my manager at my first job told me how she hired a princess for her daughter’s birthday. I was so fascinated because I had never heard of something like that. I started doing research and saw that there were a lot of companies that offered that kind of service. I then thought this could be something I can do on my own.
I started this company at age 19 because I got pregnant at a young age and needed something stable. At first, it was me and my baby’s father doing the events and eventually we added our set of employees and now they do it. My baby’s father ended up passing away last August and now it’s just me that runs the business. It has been difficult but I need to keep going for my son. I currently have my bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and am pursuing my Masters in Accounting. I also plan to start law school in January.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
For the most part, it has been a smooth road. However, there have been struggles along the way. Sometimes it is difficult to please everyone. No matter what we do there are sometimes customers that aren’t happy but we work with them to make sure everything to turns out great.
Please tell us about Kids Fantasy Gala.
We are a small company of entertainment for kid’s birthday parties. We have princesses and other characters that go to birthday parties and entertain. We do face painting, balloon creations, story time, music, singing, dancing, games, and much more.
We are almost at 3 years of business. We have 5 stars reviews on Yelp and Facebook.
Our Mission is to make every child’s birthday party a fantasy gala of magical and memorable experiences. A lot of children don’t get the opportunity to visit amusement parks where they can meet their favorite princesses and characters because it can be very expensive and time consuming, but it is a dream that every child has. Our company allows children to experience something similar to it which is also much more affordable and time saving. We offer low prices compared to other companies while still providing the best services. We are also a small company which is very beneficial because we can focus on each and every client to meet their specific needs for the finest experience.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I could had started over, I would had done everything the same. I have my bachelor’s degree in business administration, so I had a clear idea of how to start the business. I also researched the competition and marketed to help gain customers.
