LaWanda, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started my business because I was laid off from my job with no warning. I was on my way to work one morning and received a text message saying, my job was phased out. It was weeks before Christmas and I hadn’t started my Christmas shopping yet because I thought I still had a job. I went to an entrepreneur empowerment season and I was so inspired by seeing women owning their business. I went home and remember I always wanted my own cleaning service. That night I stayed up and began researching what to do and how to own a cleaning service. That night was Dec 9th 2016 and my business has grown tremendously in six months. I clean over 10 beauty and barber shops, churches, office buildings and residential homes as well. In August, my hand soap will be out for purchasing for sell and I’m continually working daily to make Regal Touch one of the best in the Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana area. I truly believe God push me into my destiny because I was taking too long to jump out on my own.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Yes, there have been many struggles along the way. I have been doing everything on my own financially. So I had to give up some things to help the business to grow. I have learned and still learning how to run a business and be effective in it. So every day I feel I am learning and growing.

Regal Touch Maid & Cleaning Service, we specialize in commercial and residential cleaning services. We are known for giving a clean and fresh smell to a place. You will know Regal Touch have been there because of the smell and look. I am most proud of how in a short time, business has grown in such a way it’s unheard of. What sets me apart from others is I’m driven to succeed and press on no matter what comes my way.

Integrity, good customer service skills, personable and respectful.
People are drawn to listen to me and when they meet me they feel at ease and can trust me which is important in my line of work.
