Today we’d like to introduce you to Laura Delman.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Laura. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I began my company in March of 2016 as a luxury women’s ready to wear apparel line. It’s a labor of love intended to provide classic items with a twist for adventurous, confident, chic women. Fashion is an expression of identity, a way to tell one’s story with elegant, unique clothing. Our garments are constructed using fabulous fabrics and precise design details. We include asymmetry, pockets, layers and other classic twists. We have evolved as a team collaborating on perfecting the designs to achieve the most elegant and current styles.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The fashion world is chaotic, competitive and undergoing a rebirth. Moving from brick and mortar to eCommerce sales platforms is a constant challenge. There are so many designers each with their own messages, stories, skills and design aesthetics. Identifying and reaching one’s target market is critically important. Using all of the appropriate media avenues, including classic media, print, press, markets and social in meaningful and appropriate channels is key.
Please tell us about Laura Delman.
I am the founder and creative director. We specialize in luxury fabrics, key design features of asymmetry, pockets, layers and notions that accent the designs. We explore and focus on sustainable fabrics and manufacture all of our garments in the United States. I am most proud of the fabrics and the fit. We continue to improve the process from design, to pattern, to construction to ensure that the fit of each garment is reliable and trusted. What sets us apart is the touch of the luxury fabrics and the way the woman feels when wearing a LauraDelman garment.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I would have focused on fit sooner in the process. It’s KEY to the appeal of wearing a luxury garment.
