Today we’d like to introduce you to Lakisha Childs.
Lakisha, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was working in corporate before I started Lakisha Cleaning Services. I always knew that I wanted to start some type of business because I wanted to create a foundation for my future generation.
Lakisha Cleaning Services became an Idea one day I was at work sitting at my desk I wrote down three things that I was good at and which one would be a good business to start off with, So I decided to start off with the cleaning service first because it was easy to start plus with the knowledge my grandma taught me I knew that I could make this work as a starter business. When I first started I notice that being a professional cleaner was totally different than cleaning your own home.
So the first year was not that great but I told myself that I would learn as much as I could from the mistakes and feedback from clients to make this a great business. I would go online to do research each day to learn something new about professional cleaning and products that would actually work that would get amazing results. Even today 5 and half years later I’m still learning I think with any business you have to always learn something new in order progress in your business.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I feel my obstacles is business tends to be slow and my challenges is finding funding to expand my business.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Lakisha Cleaning Services – what should we know?
Lakisha Cleaning Services specialize in Deep Cleanings, Basic Cleanings, Move out and Move in cleanings. My best my best qualities is Kitchen and Bathroom cleanings.
What I’m most proud of my business is that I keep going even when the stakes are low. I have sacrificed my whole self into this business even now I have lost a lot of things even my apartment due to my business. but my clients and the will to keep going is what I’m proud of.
I feel what sets me apart from others is that my main concern is the client is fully happy at the end of my cleaning. I put myself in their shoes as the client and what would my expectation would be if I hire a cleaner to clean my space. I also like to get to know my clients on a personal level, I feel that is very important because they are trusting you in their home.

I have to be honest throughout this whole process I have not had anyone to support me but myself.
