Today we’d like to introduce you to Kyle Muha (KM Productions).
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
At a young age I was obsessed with discovering and finding new music and making my music library as big as possible. Eventually that love of finding new music led me to start djing & producing music in high-school. That is where I made the transition from being obsessed with finding new music but instead creating new music of my own. From there I graduated high-school and began studying Audio Production at The Illinois Institute of Art, Chicago. During my time in school I had the opportunity to work with a ton of great bands and gained valuable experience of working in a professional studio. Along with my education, I have also interned at a studio in Chicago called The Jungle Audio Engineering where I got first hand experience of working in a professional studio and gained a lot of experience from an engineering perspective. All of that led to where I am at now, where I started my own freelance engineering company called KM Productions!
Please tell us about your art.
As an artist I create music in Ableton Live which is a digital audio workstation. The main inspiration for my work comes from a variety of different places but in particular the love I share for music as a fan is the main source of my inspiration. Without the groundwork of being a huge music fan at first I wouldn’t be where I am today. Thanks to the countless hours of discovering new music as a kid, it has led me to have an endless amount of inspiration provided by my favorite artist. The biggest thing I want people to take away from my art is the same feeling I got as a kid discovering new music. I want people to view my content and get a source of inspiration that helps them get through their day or pushes them to chase their dreams. My artwork is a representation of myself and a collage of my favorite genres of music all in one.
We often hear from artists that being an artist can be lonely. Any advice for those looking to connect with other artists?
I think the most important thing as an artist to do is to be genuine. If people can tell you are genuine about the content you create and how you interact with people, that is going to be the main reason on why people are going to want to work with you. Another thing I would say about connecting with other artist is, that you never know when the opportunity will present itself to work with others. I truly believe that if you have integrity with the content you make and remain genuine at the same time, opportunities to work with others will come along with it.
