Kimberly, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My story is not a short one, I believe I was guided by something greater than myself to manifest my space. For the first 45 years of my life it was clear to me that success was measured by how much money you made and how many possessions you had. Making decisions based on the bottom line was something I excelled at.
About 4 years ago as head of a multi-million dollar company I found that my “line in the sand” was constantly shifting; money becoming increasingly important, my spiritual self-unfulfilled and the human condition becoming irrelevant. Then everything changed……
As an “important” executive I sent my daughter whom at the time was 13 to her doctors important with my boyfriend, after all my work schedule came first. My daughter complained of a bruise, the doctor suggested bloodwork, my boyfriend trying to do the right thing takes her to get this done. The next day I get a call from my daughter’s pediatrician whom tells me there is something wrong…. she believes my daughter may have leukemia….. My world was about to change.
At this point in my life I had not been to church in years and really the only thing that was going through my mind was that my child was dying. I knew if I had taken her to the doctor I would have not taken her for the blood work, I would have given my daughter a hard time that she should not be complaining of bruising as she is very fair and plays competitive softball…… it was normal. I had the guilt of knowing this about myself, I had the guilt of “what type of mother sends her 14 year old to the doctor with her boyfriend” and worse my punishment was going to be my daughter’s death. My corporate decisions, my always standing up for the bottom line and not the guy at the bottom was now becoming my Karmic payback.
Fast forward….. After tons of doctors’ appointments and treatments and after tons of internalizing all that had occurred I found myself randomly meeting a women who had lost everything. Her husband had a stroke at age 40, her 16 year old was pregnant, they lost their helicopter, Ferrari and the lifestyle they knew. As she shared this with me, it gave me a break from wallowing in my own life. She then told me that she and her family where the happiest they had ever been, that I should not be telling her that I am sorry. She went on to tell me that her husband who was an Atheist and she who is Catholic decided to splurge and go to a group Psychic Reading and at this event the women told them profound information that nobody knew and it changed everything. They were still broke but they were living in bliss. The idea of this transformation was intriguing to me. I had never had a psychic reading and up until this point although I found it interesting, I personally thought it was a weird and dumb way to spend money.
In my depression and living in this world of my daughter being ill, me trying to remain focused running a multi-million dollar company, while not letting anyone know at work my personal issues…. after all in the corporate world often you put the screws into people whom you know are desperate for work instead of helping them overcome……. I took a chance and made an appointment for a reading. During my phone call just to make the appointment the lady tells me she is hearing demonic voices coming through and that if between now and my appointment if I was feeling desperate to call her before doing anything……. What??????? This approach scared me but quite honestly I was at an all-time low.
My appointment finally came and much to my surprise this lady told me things that literally nobody knew. Things that nobody could have found about me on LinkedIn or Facebook. At the end of the session she explained to me that after making the appointment that I was in her awareness and that she had been sending me Reiki energy healing until our appointment. She also told me that I would be running a boutique, actually 3 boutiques. This I found to be odd as I was a corporate executive and I probably am the one person who does not enjoy shopping….. Never even worked retail as a kid. The call ended with her telling me she felt silly charging me because after all I was psychic and my children were psychic……….. What???????? The funny thing to me about this was that the experience had been amazing and really shifted my prospective of what a Psychic Reading was all about but this comment about me being psychic as well as my kids I found to be silly.
Fast forward after timidly bridging the topic with my kids about if they felt they were Psychic come to find out my children had always had unusual experiences. And in their own words “everyone in our family are in finance, banking, run big companies and so on, we make jokes when we see shows about psychics” and what they were saying was absolutely true. After many doctors and hospitals and drugs bloodwork for my daughter showed no signs of anything…… It was as if I had witnessed a miracle. And although I wanted to strangle her, my daughter confided in me that she had often been not taking medicines but that every day she pictured herself well. At this very moment I realized I needed to take what was said to me, by yes the psychic seriously. My life needed to change.
I put up boundaries at work and instilled in myself a moral compass of what I was and was not willing to do for money….. I forced myself to be more present in sharing time with my boyfriend and children…… and although it caused problems, I was a happier person for it and could feel my own spirituality grow feeding my soul. I left corporate and opened a store for other people like me…. those caught up in the corporate system yet needing to incorporate something spiritual in their lives and Enlightened Balance Chakra Spa was manifested.
This November will be my four year anniversary and we have become a staple for many. Every day I feel like we are making a difference and are interested in helping people find themselves and be the very best version of themselves. In this world of crazy politics, financial problems, illnesses at an all-time high we have all been impacted. It seems you wake up one day and the life you have created for yourself and the person you have become is very different then the person and life you had imagined.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Deciding to go from a financially lucrative career as a single parent and mother of two has certainly been a leap of faith. It is a very different financial dynamic than we have experienced in the past but we are much more grounded and happy for it.
My store is constantly changing a manifesting based on people that are put in my path. Originally I thought I would be a metaphysical store that offered classes. Now we have 14 practitioners, most of which have been recognized for their work on TV, Radio and Magazines. I represent over 70 local artists and although they do not make enough to pay their mortgage, their creations are their passion. I am very, very, very blessed.
In a new business, you have to reinvest what you make. You need to put in the hours and the time too. Most importantly you have to truly care about your customers and when you are genuine about your commitment to them and doing good transformative work, your vibrational energy will bring success. We have been successful from day one and I absolutely believe this is because of the team of people that contribute to my store combined with my own intention that have manifested what my store has become. When you give back and take your ego out of things, all things are possible.

My business is probably known for 5 things, not in any particular order.
We support local artists and the small portion of creations that are not, are Fair Trade. This brings us local support and also very interesting and every changing items to purchase or just look at. We have artists and creators from 16 to 75 whom are passionate about what they create.
Natural products are important to us so we carry natural items for everything from your home to your pets. Offering 4 different essential oil lines, 30 plus types of hand cut natural soaps, single herb teas and more.
Psychic Readings and Energy Balancing is offered daily via walk-in or appointment. We have found having the opportunity to get what you need when you need it has given us the ability to really help people when they need it.
Crystals and Rocks are a passion of mine so I am very particular about the quality of what I offer. Every crystal or rock comes with a card and a pouch providing information about its spiritual benefits, designated chakra and element and where it was mined. From large specimens to small and specimens that are made into jewelry our selection is vast.
Metaphysical and Spiritual items are what people often come from far to purchase. We represent all spiritual belief systems because believe that no one group could be right with the others being wrong. What you believe and how you focus on your beliefs is so important to our personal spiritual evolution, I wanted to offer it all, and I have done my best to do so.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up my parents worked hard, they expected us to work hard. There was importance placed on education, hard work, getting the job done. I would say emotional growth and spiritual growth was not really instilled in us. Both of my parents grew up with financial struggles and I believe because of this they wanted my brother and I to be well educated and successful, successful meaning big titles and big money. Until my store I was exactly what they hoped for but more importantly now, I am the happiest I have ever been. Giving back, having boundaries, paying it forward, being able to look myself in the mirror, doing the right thing even when it is difficult has been manifest through my creation of Enlightened Balance.
