Today we’d like to introduce you to Kim Shortsle.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Kim. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
After growing up on the Northshore and attending University of Michigan, I worked at Leo Burnett in their marketing department. Developing marketing campaigns for such clients as Philip Morris and Disney, I learned so much about how successful marketing works. In the evening, I attended Harrington College of Design to become an Interior Designer. These skills together with my knowledge of the entire Chicago area, made being a realtor a perfect fit. I have the expertise to stage, market, and get a property sold, and I enjoy working with my clients.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The biggest obstacle was transitioning from being a stay at home mom to being a working mom. I call it the daily juggle, and I embrace and enjoy it very much. I get to work hard in the adult world all day with many clients, and then I get to play and enjoy my boys and have fun after our school and work days.

I love Berkshire Hathaway Home Services, a fantastic company to work for. I have so much support, in all areas of my job. I personally love working with people, and I find so much joy in helping clients buy or sell their most likely largest asset. I am truly on the journey with each and every client I work with.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My plans are to grow and grow my business and to eventually become a team with many strong members. Would love to create a group of people who work super hard together, but at the same time, makes the home buying and selling process enjoyable and fun.
