Today we’d like to introduce you to Kevin Holohan.
Kevin, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I had owned businesses before and did fairly well, but when it came to a point to seek help and insight the business consultant area focused on large corporation and wanted thousands of dollars and would just give you a report of what they think you should do. I took the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of small business and figured out a way to structure my business consulting services to meet the demands of the small business world. The hardest part of it all is getting the concepts of what I do in front of all the small businesses because most small business owners have the idea that consulting is big money and little results. My plans focus on the small business and stay with them through the process.
Has it been a smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road. I had sunk every dime I had into making it is what it is, which was not much. In the beginning, I was working with a borrowed laptop, no desk, no office, was living abroad, and invested my money in bits and pieces at a time. I started with a website, that I had learn to create on my own because I could not afford a web developer, and got a business name and email established. Then a couple of months down the road got a few other programs to assist the business. During this time, I am still without clients and making no money. I continued to put everything I had into the business and it started gaining attention and clients started to form slowly. I was able to purchase some laptops, more programming, and so on. Now, even though business is still a little slow, I have gained enough to retain over eight contract employees from accountants, marketing personnel, web developers, assistants, and so on. I now have my one location in Dwight, IL and a second location in Downtown Chicago, IL.

My company is a first of its kind type of business consulting agency that opened December 1, 2015. We do not believe you should pay for someone to come it and give you a report of what they think you should do. I like to take the opportunity to get to know you and your business ideas and understand what it is you would like to do. Our concept is that people get into business because they are good at what they do, but may not of the business sense to handle some business areas. That is where we come it. We handle the business end of things for you, so you can focus on the operations. We charge a small monthly maintenance fee and then because we are working with you and for you to structure the business and build it we take a small percentage of each month’s profits as the remainder of the fee. This way it shows we are working for you. If you are not successful then neither are we. We want you to be successful because the more successful you are the more successful we are. We are not geared toward any certain type of business. We take on any type of small business. Small business is our focus point. Small business is the backbone of the American economy.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
One of our areas of focus is target marketing. We are going to do a little research and studies to make sure that your business will thrive and survive in that area. Not all small business can just be placed anywhere and make it. Chicago and the suburban area are very good places to locate a business. Some areas we must consider is overhead, competition, customer based interests, and so on. Chicago and the suburban area is very diverse and vast and would create great opportunities for everyone wanting to start a business.
