Kelley, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Playing with gadgets lead to tech support — IBM, Motorola, that sort of thing. After a few years I went freelance, and now I handle mostly home users and small companies. Basically, I found a way to play with toys all day. 😉
Has it been a smooth road?
The dot-com days paid the way for the first few years of barely making anything, but eventually the client list grew. Keeping up with everyone was the biggest struggle. One tries to be sure everyone gets the support they need.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with ZenSupport – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I like people, and I’m happy to sit and talk about what a computer or system needs, free of geek-speak. Quite a few of my clients are retirement age or older, and making sure they know what needs to be done and why matters. Technology can be… unnerving, and my goal is to be sure everyone happy.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Diversity. I can walk two blocks from my front door and buy sushi, gourmet ice cream, cheap pizza or fine-dining pasta. Walk the lakefront, count languages. It’s a great game. I hear languages I can’t even identify, and on holidays the parks are packed with people from all over the world.
Winters are… not so great. The snow’s nice for a while, but the cold starts too soon and lasts too long, though that doesn’t seem to be the case this year. October and T-shirts.
