Today we’d like to introduce you to Katie Schuppler.
Katie, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I am a Personal Style Consultant and Fashion Blogger/Writer who loves to help others create their own personal style in this fast paced world of fashion and just life in general. Having a Bachelors of Arts degree in Fashion Merchandise Management and Business Administration from Mount Mary College in Milwaukee, WI I had then gone on to become a Stylist/Style Director at the #1 women’s boutique in Milwaukee, Fred Boutique.
Now living in the city of Chicago, I have been dedicated to helping my clients find their own personal style through advice, Styling Sessions, Closet Clean-outs, Consignment, and Look Books throughout the Chicagoland and Southeastern Wisconsin areas for over 6 years. I also worked as the former Wardrobe Stylist for The Whitney Reynolds Show in Chicago and am currently a Style and Beauty Contributor for Chicago Woman Magazine.
My client is a man or woman who is price conscious, but still wants to look fabulous and fashion forward. All in all, having him or her feeling confident at the end of the day is the ultimate achievement!
KS Style Consulting was also named one of the “Best Stylists” in Chicago by CBS Chicago.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The first 3 years were really hard! Starting a new business is never easy and doing it at a time when no one is doing very well is ten times more difficult. I would say that marketing myself and my business has been the hardest part.
Over 6 years in and I have a solid client base with a continuous line of new clientele, referrals from current and past clients. I feel very proud and grateful to have finally gotten to this point!

KS Style Consulting is a Personal Style Consulting business in Chicago, IL. I provide clients with closet clean outs, personal shopping, look books, e-styling, and speaking engagements.
I’m most proud of how I make clients feel after we meet and accomplish the goals they are looking to meet. Nothing looks better than a confident and happy man or woman!
Something that I think sets KS Style Consulting apart is that I work in a very non intimidating way and never want my clients to feel pressure about anything. I want the client to feel like I’m just an honest friend coming in to help!
What were you like growing up?
My mom would say sweet and a rule follower who sets myself apart. My parents always say that in elementary school I was leader and stuck by my friends.
I wanted to be an entrepreneur since the age of 7 when I started my fake business “Katie’s Cuts” and had my little sister model for the hairstyles I created in pictures. My family still has it and it is pretty comical to look back at!
