Today we’d like to introduce you to Katie Moore Susana Jasso.
RK Salon was created in a partnership which consisted of experts from both sides of Aveda. An artist and a loyal guest. Katie and Susana met through their children at Kiddie Academy in Bolingbrook. Katie, a loyal Aveda client became a client of Susana’s and when the opportunity arose to open an Aveda Salon they decided it would be the perfect partnership. With Susana’s talent and Katie’s background in business, it was a match destined for success. Through the eyes of a Master stylist and a long-time Aveda client, they have built RK Salon for their clients to have a great experience and walk out looking their best. Susana and the team of stylists are a rare find and the clients come back because RK Salon is a pool of talent and a hidden gem in Chicago.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No good thing ever comes easy, right? Updating the salon took longer than expected and cost more but each challenge made the accomplishment of opening more satisfying and the determination stronger.

RK Salon specializes in the most common aspects of beauty for both men and women.
We offer color, cut, blow-outs/styling, hair extensions, treatments including Keratin, makeup, eyelash extensions and waxing
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
We opened in December 2016 and a number of return clients is what we are most proud of. It means that we are succeeding in what we set out to do and keeping Chicago beautiful and happy.
