Today we’d like to introduce you to Julia Dragomir.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Ready to make a change in the activity domain, by the end of 2010 I started taking photography classes over at The Chicago Photography Academy. Photography has always been a passion of mine, but never actually thought that at one point, I could transform it into a business.
The road was not easy, it still isn’t, but to be doing what I truly love, does make THE change. Today I definitely feel a lot more confident and of course, it did came with all the experience. Having shot more than 200 weddings over the last 6 years makes the whole difference. I still learn something new every day, it can be from a colleague, from a book I read, or even from my dear clients.
I can totally see myself doing this in the far future and being always present and capturing the happiest days of my couples lives, gives me nothing but excitement to keep going on!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Of course there were struggles and of course the whole path of starting a business is not easy. In the end as a photographer, not only you relate on being the artist, but you also have to be a marketing pro, a SEO guru, a social media expert and so on. I learned from my mistakes and in the end that’s the rewarding part. In order to learn, you have to first try, and maybe, sometime even fail.
Please tell us about You Me Photography, CO..
I am a lifestyle wedding photographer. The style I call editorial, fun and fresh. I am a blogger, an artist and the photographer who delivers raw emotions.
The company You Me Photography is created by a team of professionals, we trust and like to be trusted by the clients that choose to work with us, and in the end we want them feel comfortable, to give them a family/friends feel after they have spent a good amount of hours with us, while delivering the best quality of services to them.
We tend to be more personal by trying to understand the client’s needs and we do so from our initial consultation over to our studio. It is as if they are our friends coming over for a hang out at our place… I think this might be what sets You Me Photography apart.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Truth be told, even if you were to think that you know it all when it comes to be starting a business, I am pretty sure that there will still be things to learn.
I enjoyed the process and braved thru all the challenges, but if I were to be starting it all over again, I would probably connect more with the people in the industry and don’t be afraid to ask questions; we all go thru the same issues, talking openly about them, can definitely help improve your career.
