Meet Jessica Lowry and Jill Sprinkle of Nouveau Départ Nail Studio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Lowry and Jill Sprinkle.

Jessica and Jill, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Two entrepreneurial sisters who always enjoyed getting our nails done together.  We had trouble finding a healthy environment with a high level of service to enjoy our bi-weekly salon visits. We decided Chicago needed a healthy approach to nail care accompanied with a high level of service, and since our search proved fruitless to find such place, we decided we would bring Chicago the healthy nail care it needed with Nouveau Départ Nail Studio.

Nouveau Départ is French for fresh start.  That is exactly what this new business venture has been for us, and fresh start is the perfect description for that wonderful feeling after your hands and nails have been freshly manicured.

Has it been a smooth road?
As a startup, many places are not willing to give you a chance.  Not to mention, we weren’t willing to make our entrance into the industry just anywhere. So securing a location proved challenging until we met with a wonderful company that believed in our vision and leased us our first location in the amazing neighborhood of River North.

From that point on there were many learning opportunities as we were building a business from the ground up. From construction and permitting to hiring and stocking the studio, we definitely now are experts in many things we never anticipated. We will for sure be much wiser on the next go-round as our hopes would be to open additional locations throughout the city with dreams beyond.

At Nouveau Départ Nail Studio we believe that what you put on your body is as important as what you put in it. We are committed to using products that take into consideration the health of the client, Nail Artists, and Mother Earth alike. We strive to use products with pure and safe ingredients that are vegan, paraben-free, and cruelty-free.

Our curated collection of lacquers is 5-10 free of the major toxins that have been known to cause serious health concerns. With the industry constantly changing, our pledge is to always strive to provide healthy alternatives. Nouveau Départ Nail Studio maintains the highest standard of hygiene throughout all of our practices.

All tools that are reused are either glass or metal and are sterilized in a medical grade autoclave. We pride ourselves in ensuring that everyone’s experience is entirely hygienic as well as enjoyable. Healthy nail care gives you a fresh start and looks good on everyone!
