Today we’d like to introduce you to Jesse Labreck.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Ultimate Ninjas started off as an idea from Jeff and Jackie Piejak who loved to watch American Ninja Warrior on TV with their two daughters. It wasn’t after long they all became hooked on the sport and the positive message it sends to kids and that idea later became reality when Jeff built our first location in Chicago. They wanted a place where kids, and adults could access what they saw on the show and use that to pursue their fitness goals.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Open a fitness facility is a huge project. There are many steps, permits, and minor details to do to complete a dream as big as Ultimate Ninjas. Our team is constantly working and tackling all tasks together. We are always learning. Just like American Ninja Warrior there are always obstacles to overcome but thankfully we are used to obstacles.

At Ultimate Ninjas we host birthday parties, open play, classes, team building, corporate and special events. We are able to more than 25 birthday parties per weekend, we have classes for ages 6 and up for any skill level, and open gym for all around play. We also available for special events such as team building and corporate events. Ultimate Ninjas has recently opened a fitness program specifically for adults. Our new program is called ultiFIT. This is a program designed for adults with a wide spectrum of fitness goals that are coached by amazing trainers. ultiFIT is for all fitness levels; whether it’s overall fitness without ever touching an obstacle, we also offer beginner obstacle training, or advance training for those who are applying for the show!
What were you like growing up?
I was always very adventurous and loved to be outside. It was impossible for me to stay out of trees or off the jungle gym. I wish when I was a child I had an American Ninja Warrior gym. I ended up doing track and field all through middle school and high school. I enjoyed the individual part of being on the track team but it also being a team sport. From that I learned many of the skills that helped me with ANW.
Pricing:
- Classes are 55 minutes Monday – Thursday for $25
- Kids pen gym are $12 for 1 hour or $20 for 2 hours. Adult open gym is 2 hours for $20.
- Brithday parties are private, 2 hours, and have 2 party hosts at all times. Packages start at $395 and include up to 15 kids. We can accommodate up to 40, $15 per child after the initial 15.
