Meet Jeremy Aguirre

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeremy Aguirre.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I am a freelance photographer. I picked up photography about 4 years ago as a hobby. I quickly realized how much I enjoyed being behind the camera. About a year after buying my first camera, I was shooting my first wedding! Since then, I’ve shot a pretty wide variety of styles. Recently I’ve really shifted my focus to portrait and lifestyle photography. Shooting this style has really allowed me to be creative and expand my style. Not to mention how many amazing and creative people I have been able to meet and work with. I am excited to see where this new chapter of photography will be taking me!

Please tell us about your art.
I am a portrait/lifestyle photographer. I approach my work with a kind of classic and vintage feel. I like to keep my editing to a minimum, which I feel gives my shots a very timeless feel. The goal is to capture real life moments.
I always aim to capture candid moments that are raw and pull you into the shot.

What do you think is the biggest challenge facing artists today?
That is definitely a loaded question! Ha-ha. I won’t speak for all types of artists, but for photography, I think one of the biggest challenges is to create something that sets you apart in the world of picture-taking. In an era where everyone takes pictures of everything, and as cameras and cell phone cameras get more and more powerful, you have to be creative in order to shoot something that stands out.

I’ve primarily built up my following through Instagram: @stained lens I also have stainedlens.com, where I am able to share more of my work. The best way to support my work is to spread the word about me! I am always looking for new opportunities to connect and create with new creative friends!
