Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeffrey and Stephanie Leverich.
Jeffrey is the CEO & owner of Leverich Painting & Decorating. He worked as a Logistics Manager during the early 1990’s, at which time he started Leverich Painting & Decorating as a side business. After incorporating the Business in 2001, he left his career in the corporate world and launched Leverich Painting & Decorating, LLC. Nearly 17 years later, The Leverich Crew has played a key role in the transformation of many landmark buildings such as The Memorial Opera House, Valparaiso University properties and the former Strongbow Inn.
In 2014, the EPA licensed Leverich Painting as an official Lead-Free Certified Corporation. As a result, the Crew is able to legally and safely work with lead remediation. The company has renovated homes on the National Historic Registry and has taken part in community beautification projects involving lead-based products.
Leverich also has a substantial residential & commercial re-paint business.
“Many of our clients have businesses and second homes in the Chicago or Lakeshore area. They are business people like myself, so efficiency is key. My crew is clean-cut, very talented and excellent at containing the mess.”
His wife, Stephanie is the Leverich Painting Marketing Director. Stephanie holds a B.S. in Marketing from Indiana University and is excited about her role in the company. Her work has been featured in three regional magazines, on social media and on their Corporate Website (www.leverichpainting.com). Recently, an advice column regarding current DIY painting topics has been added to the media mix. Brightly wrapped fleet vehicles are also a big part of Leverich’s bold approach to marketing.
When the Leverich’s are not operating their painting business, they are the proud parents to six children, ranging in age from 20 to 6 year old. Three of their children are now in college, which has been a blessing unto itself.
“We are so fortunate to have such a wonderful group of people in our community. Our children have learned how hard work pays off by watching us grow, give back and mentor other small businesses. We hope it’s a life lesson that they will pass onto our grandchildren some day!” says Stephanie.
Giving back is a top priority for the Leverich Team. They are leaders in the Chicagoland Community and support charitable organizations such as Opportunity Enterprises, the YMCA, and various Church outreach ministries.
Has it been a smooth road?
(Jeff): “We have been very blessed with great clients, an amazingly talented paint crew and have made some life-long friends. The biggest challenge with painting is keeping up with the demand of the DIY industry trends. It’s a 15 billion dollar industry that makes painting look like the easiest part of the job!”
“It’s (DIY industry) an opportunity to educate my clients about what works on different surfaces. I wear many hats but problem solving is key to any successful paint challenge. I want my clients to understand the chemical process behind painting…It has everything to do with how well it will hold up to environmental stress, heavy traffic areas and lifestyle considerations. I am lucky to have been exposed to many different substrates and 20 plus years of experience.”
The other obstacle of painting is educating clients about quality paints and coverage, says Leverich, “You always save more in the long run with labor costs and the amount of paint you need if you pay a little more for the good stuff. It cuts down on labor costs and possibly having to use another product to get a factory finish.”
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Leverich Painting & Decorating – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
LIKES: Great clients, great business colleagues and a talented crew.
DISLIKES: DIY National marketing campaigns that make false claims. There is rarely a one-stop-shop for any one manufacturer. Each product and brand have their own set of qualities & more than one is usually needed to get the job done properly.
