Meet Jason Tipner of JET Advertising in Bloomingdale

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jason Tipner.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Jason. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I was running the creative department for an agency that specialized in new home builders. In 2008, we were forced to close because of the housing market crash. JET started small working with a few of the clients that were non home builders. 9 years later our staff has grown and we still have three of our original team members -our lead developer, lead designer and book keeper. I know this is because of the quality of the environment at JET.

I believe the key to our success has been our high level of integrity. Everyone wants to work with a professional that can be trusted. This is true for mechanics, doctors, lawyers and marketing firms.

Companies want a marketing firm that will help them get the most out of their budget. And there are a lot of bad firms out there. IE: SEO companies that are being paid monthly and don’t even have access to the website; Pay per click companies that are purchasing keywords that are not even related to the business; And website companies that build the site and don’t give ownership of the site over to their clients.

I love marketing. I enjoy every day that I get to partner with a good business and promote it and help it grow. I also have to credit my upbringing. My parents instilled a strong work ethic in me and hard work always pays off.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road was not smooth. Hardest for me were the years that I was going through a divorce. My business partner was my father-in-law, so separating from him and becoming a sole proprietor added bumps along the way.

I treat my team here like family. So any time we have an employee leave JET is a struggle for me. I am typically happy for them, as their new positions are better for them. But it is also sad to see them leave.

Last August we purchased the building we are in now and that also added a new struggle. Passing building inspections, remodeling the office, and taking on the upkeep of the building is a whole new adventure. But it has become a good home for the team and has helped us grow now that we have the additional space.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about JET Advertising – what should we know?

I am proud of the team of great people that work here.
