Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaime M. Rojkind.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I came to Chicago like many other immigrants from Latin America, looking for new opportunities and a way to expand on my professional career. I started to work for Sun Life of Canada a major insurance carrier from Canada as a representative an there I met my first partner in business, a brilliant immigrant from Russia.
After a short term working together, we decided to start our own insurance Agency with the twist that we were going to offer all lines of insurance and investments, a novel idea since in 1981 agencies were divided by line of insurance and or specialty.
We were successful in developing a professional clientele and introduce new products as well as train Agents in this occupation.
Then in 1987 I met my second and present partner, Alvin Robinson, whom introduce me to the local and national political scene and with him we were able to develop a newer approach to employee benefits programs.
In the course of business, we had the opportunity of helping others both in business and in charitable enterprises and we both continue our relationship as well as our commitment to our business.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Many stones are in your road to success, but the most important to overcome is the language not only in meaning, but in culture. However, we were lucky, not only because preparation met opportunities, but because United States was a very different place, full of hope and energy to develop in a climate of NO wars and tolerance.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Rolei Financial Services – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Our main emphases have been in providing financial advice paired with risk management.
A simple concept: If you live too long you will need investments, but if you die too soon you need insurance!
An orderly way to have all your affairs planned and to leave your family in their own world.
We have always been known for being a small shop of big clients with a personalized attention.
This personal attention with no automatized phones! and personal empathy, allowed us to remain in business since 1981 surmounting the great obstacles that our Industry went through. Taking care of two or three generations in one family has been our true advertising.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
