The Jacobs Companies has been in business since 1935 and in that time has built an incomparable reputation as the premier builder on the North Shore. They have developed over 44 communities and literally thousands of custom and semi-custom homes.
Albert S. Jacobs (Keith’s grandfather) was the founder of TJC. He was a visionary who built this company on a simple philosophy that today remains the single most important factor for long-term survival: success is solely measured by the satisfaction of each homeowner.
In the early 1950’s, a father and son team began to seek out development opportunities with exceptionally high standards. TJC continues to break new ground. With a pioneering spirit, they were the first home builders in the Chicago market to offer custom floor plans plus many other “first time” features.
Today the President and CEO of TJC, Keith is intimately involved in the development and construction process every step of the way. He maintains attention to detail with personal inspection of all homes under construction.
Has it been a smooth road?
It has not always been smooth. TJC along with other builders faced many challenges during the real estate crisis in 2010. However, we changed our focus and customer audience. This allowed us to keep our doors open and to continue what we love to do; build homes.

We are a North Shore Builder whose audience is broad and large. We build townhomes, rowhomes, duplexes, single-family homes and custom homes. We specialize in customization. We do not say no to changes. We love for our customers to use their creativity and if asked we will change a plan.
We do not like to repeat a community. We thrive on each development being unique and a one of a kind.
