Ivy, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started my business in 1988… I started slowly by parking cars for CUB fans at ROSCOE and RACINE… I had room for 200 cars. I discovered the empty lot across the street from a bldg I had just bought.
It became an event… what to do with the empty land in the offseason? I started selling LIVE Xmas trees… 30 years later, I’m still in the game.
We park cars for CUB games… concerts… Gay Pride Parade… hotels in the neighborhood… the film industry has used my property for their catering trucks… so, we parked for the 2016 World Series game.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been great… recently, people without a parking garage 7530 licenses have been parking illegally… stripping licensed insured parking lots of filling their lots.
